Hari Gopalan, BSRT, MRT(DMS), is a Quality Improvement Advisor at the CHEO. With an international background in diagnostic imaging, Hari holds a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology from De La Salle Health Sciences Institute and a Graduate Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Imaging from Algonquin College. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Management with a focus on Analytics from McGill University, enhancing his ability to integrate data science and machine learning into healthcare management.
At CHEO, Hari plays a key role in advancing process and quality improvement initiatives, particularly within Ambulatory Care and Medical Imaging. By leveraging LEAN Six Sigma principles, he applies a systematic approach to identify inefficiencies, optimize workflows, and improve patient outcomes. His work emphasizes data analysis and automation, ensuring processes are streamlined while maintaining the highest standards of care.
Driven by a passion for innovation and continuous improvement, Hari has successfully led several high-impact projects that have significantly enhanced healthcare delivery. Notable achievements include a 64% reduction in MRI waitlists, the development of a staff vacancy texting system that sends over 250,000 texts per month to fill vacant shifts, the implementation of an MR Success Clinic, and the "Here We Grow" funding pitch to name a few.
