Dr. Melanie Buba, MD, FRCPC, is a hospital paediatrician and Medical Director, Medical Inpatient Services at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa, ON. She is also an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ottawa, and an Investigator at the CHEO Research Institute. Dr. Buba graduated from the Northern Ontario School of Medicine’s pediatric residency program in 2015 and has worked at the CHEO since 2018 where she has held a number of leadership positions. Her research interests include quality improvement, health systems research, the development and implementation of clinical practice guidelines, patient- and family-centered care, transitions in care and workplace culture. She is the Past President of the Canadian Paediatrics Society Hospital Paediatrics Section and is passionate about furthering the growth and advancement of pediatric hospital medicine in Canada.
