Dr. Janice Cohen is a clinical health psychologist at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Co-Lead of the Mental Health Consultation Liason Service, CHEO RI Investigator and Cllnical Professor in the School of Psychology, University of Ottawa. Throughout her career, Dr. Cohen's clinical and research activities have centred on children and youth with co-occuring physical and mental health disorders. This has included developing clinical decision-making tool, the Pediatric INTERMED- Complexity Assessment Grid (CAG) , which provides a systematic approach to identifying IBD patients' biological, psychological, social, caregive/family and health system needs which contribute to increased case and care complexity. In 2019, the CHEO IBD Team,
implemented the Pediatric INTERMED (CAG), into routine pediatric IBD care. Her conference poster highlights two components of the evaluation of this quality improvement initiative. Dr. Cohen's is currently conducting precision mental health research with children and youth with Somatic Symptoms and Related Disorders.
