Ariane Blanc is the Director of Pharmacy and Chief Clinical Pharmacist at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario – Ottawa Children’s Treatment Centre (CHEO), research investigator at the CHEO Research Institute and adjunct professor at the University of Ottawa School of Pharmaceutical Science. She is a bilingual hospital pharmacy leader with more than 20 years of extensive academic, professional, research and mentorship experience in adult and pediatric hospitals and pharmacy community settings in Ottawa, Montreal and Paris (France).
Ariane graduated from a B.Pharm. (2002), M.Sc.; residency program (2003) and the Certificat 2e cycle pratique pharmaceutique de 1ère ligne; Pharm.D (2023) at the Université de Montréal (Canada). She obtained her MBA with Excellent and International publicizing Award at Tongji University (Shanghai; China;2014). She received the Canadian Foundation for the International Space University Scholarship to complete the Summer Space Program in 2014. In 2022, Ariane founded, and has been chairing the Canadian Pediatric of Hospital Pharmacy Leadership group. She volunteers at the Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists (CSHP) – Ontario Branch, as the President (Vision Portfolio) since 2023. Ariane has been volunteering in the CSHP Sustainability Task Force, and as the Director of the Research and Quality Improvement of the Canadian Association of Pharmacy for the Environment (CAPhE) since 2023. She is a Journal de Pharmacie Clinique redaction committee member since 2015, and ad-hoc reviewer for the Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy. Ariane has published in peer-reviewed journals and a tertiary literature. She won the CSHP Residency Award in 2003, the CSHP Excellence in Pharmacy Practice leadership Award in 2023, the CSHP OB Scott Walker Research Award in 2024, the CHEO Kick the Carbon Award in 2023 and 2024. She was nominated for the CHEO RI Outstanding Research Mentor Award in 2023 and the Rhonda Correll Leadership Award in 2024.
