Melanie MacInnis BSc(Pharm), PharmD is the Professional Practice Leader of Pharmacy at IWK Health in Halifax, NS. She has practiced as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at the IWK for over 10 years. During this time, she has been a fierce advocate of the role of the pharmacist to do more within their scope to assist in care for patients, ultimately leading to medication related care provided by the most appropriate healthcare provider given the time and location of patient presentation. She is a past president of the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists, and is a current member of the Canadian Society of Health-system Pharmacy Professional Practice Advisory Committee.
