Matthew Head MRT(R)(MR) is a Professional Practice Leader proudly represeting MRITs at CHEO. He is an accomplished MRI Technologist specializing in pediatrics, with over 14 years of experience in the field. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a passion for innovation, continually seeking ways to enhance the patient experience and improve healthcare outcomes.
As an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, Matthew has contributed to the development of the MR Success Clinic, a groundbreaking initiative leveraging virtual reality (VR) technology to alleviate anxiety in pediatric patients undergoing MRI procedures. To date, this innovative program has successfully diverted 50 patients from requiring general anesthesia, a testament to its effectiveness and the team's commitment to patient-centered care.
Matthew takes pride in his active involvement in the medical imaging community, presenting research at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual conference in 2024.
