Dr Barbara Vernon (BA Hons, PhD) is the CEO of Children’s Healthcare Australasia, a peak not-for-profit body of 95+ children’s hospitals and paediatric services across Australia and New Zealand. Through CHA, hospitals share data and expertise to improve care and outcomes for children, young people and their families. Under Barb’s leadership over the past 14 years, CHA has grown to include 70% of public hospital care of children in Australia and has partnered with both government and research organisations to facilitate improvements in clinical care and outcomes for children, young people and families. She is passionate about accelerating the spread of proven innovations in children’s healthcare sector, and sees data driven Learning Health Networks as a key strategy to supporting paediatric service leaders and clinicians to connect and leverage each other’s expertise to collectively improve care and outcomes in partnership with the children & families we serve.
