Leah Evangelista is CHA’s first chief public affairs and brand officer. In her role, she is responsible for all federal affairs, regulatory and policy work, external affairs, communications, marketing, creative and awareness campaigns. Evangelista launched several award winning integrated advocacy campaigns around issues core to children’s hospitals, including mental health, vaccine awareness and the “Made Possible By Your Children’s Hospital” campaign.
Evangelista believes in the power of narrative storytelling and continues to amplify pediatric patients, families, the health care workforce, and the collective mission of children’s hospitals. Prior to joining CHA, she had an almost 20-year career working in health care public affairs and political action. Evangelista spent nearly 10 years at the Federation of American Hospitals (FAH), who represents the for-profit hospitals and health systems. Evangelista resides in Washington, D.C. with her husband and 8-year-old son Colin.
