Leader Clinical Education and Special Projects, Child Health BC
Catherine Marshall is an experienced Registered Nurse with a commitment to supporting pediatric care. In her current role as Leader of Clinical Education and Special Projects at Child Health BC, she collaborates with provincial partners to develop evidence-based provincial education and supports the development of provincial clinical guidelines grounded in best and wise practices.
With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 25 years of clinical nursing and leadership experience, Catherine has worked in a variety of acute care settings throughout her career, with a primary focus in the emergency and pediatric settings, providing high quality care to patients and families.
During her previous role as a Clinical Nurse Educator, she had the opportunity to develop, implement and evaluate clinical education programs and initiatives across two clinical programs. Catherine contributed to the creation of a Pediatric Short Stay unit within the Emergency department, with a focus on providing pediatric care closer to home. It was during this time that her passion for promoting evidence-based education grew and her desire to advocate for equitable access to pediatric education and care.
She recognizes and is grateful to be able to live and raise her family on the shared, traditional, ancestral and unceded territories of the Tsawwassen, Musqueam, and other Coast Salish Peoples. Outside of work you will find Catherine cheering her children on at sporting events and enjoying the outdoors exploring British Columbia’s beautiful backcountry.
